Anatomy of The Chopper

BIBLIOGRAPHIC INFORMATION:

Anatomy of the Chopper. Mitchel, Doug. Krause Publications, Iola. ISBN 978-0-89689-266-8

PLOT SUMMARY:

Anatomy of the Chopper highlights the chopper style motorcycle. Each bike shown is a work of art. There is a brief description of the work done on each bike as well as the motor used. The photographs of the bikes, motor and wheels bring the bikes to life. Having a custom chopper made can be very expensive. In the back of the book the author has provided a list of chopper builders that mass produce them. They offer multiple options to ensure the chopper you purchase is as close to one-of-a-kind as you can get. More importantly, these builders offer warrantees.

CRITICAL EVALUATION:

I chose this book because I thought it was a good choice for teens that are into bikes. That, being said, I am not into bikes. I like them, I think the look cool. I have no idea about the mechanics involved. This is probably why I did not understand most of what I read. However, The pictures of the bikes are amazing. I’ve never seen anything like it. Some of the bikes look like a piece of art. Even though some of the bikes look very uncomfortable to ride, they look fantastic. This is definitely a book for those that love choppers and can appreciate the descriptions of the work that went into them.

READER’S ANNOTATION:

A beautifully photographed book of choppers; along with a description of the work that went into each bine.
