INFORMATION ABOUT THE CREATOR

The StartSpot Network, a division of StartSpot Mediaworks, was founded with the desire to improve people's ability to quickly and easily find the best topical information on the Web.
Frustrated by unwieldy search engine results and bottomless portals, they felt there had to be a better way. What began as a highly acclaimed site, LibrarySpot.com, has evolved into a simple network of topical "Spots," the StartSpot Network.

They focus on topics that inform and educate. Our goal is to help you quickly and easily discover the best the Web has to offer for these topics. Their editorial team carefully evaluates and selects the best, most relevant and most interesting online resources for a topic, then organizes the information to make it easily accessible.

The sites have received a total of more than 100 awards and honors, including "Top 100 Web Site" from PC Magazine, "Best Reference Site" from Forbes.com and "Top 100 Web Sites for Families" from Family PC. They have also received rave reviews from visitors and the media, including CNN, Good Morning America, Fox News, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, The Christian Science Monitor, Los Angeles Times, Chicago Tribune, The Miami Herald, The Dallas Morning News, The San Jose Mercury News, U.S. News and World Report, Yahoo! Internet Life and Family PC.

The company is headquartered in Evanston, Illinois, approximately 13 miles north of downtown Chicago and 35 minutes from O' Hare International Airport. The company's offices are located in the Technology Innovation Center at the Evanston/Northwestern University Research Park.
